What you eat affects your school performance. If your goal is to make this an excellent academic year, you should start including these brain foods in your diet.

Food for Greater Brain Power

Everything you eat has a direct affect on your ability to think, your ability to concentrate, and your ability to perform. If you believe that you could do better at school, it’s not enough to study harder and sign up for tutoring classes. You need to take a look at your diet and try including more of these superfoods while eliminating junk food.
  1. Leafy greens: Don’t avoid eating that salad. Leafy greens contain high levels of lutein, beta-carotene, and Vitamin K. These nutrients boost brain function and help maintain healthy brain cells.
  2. Avocado: Include some guacamole or avocado toast in your daily diet to help strengthen the nerve cells that carry information to the brain. Avocados also help improve blood flow to the brain and enhance its abilities.
  3. Dark chocolate: We all need a sweet treat once in a while, and it's even better if the snack can improve your thinking abilities and mood.
  4. Nuts: Nuts help fend off degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s. They contain high levels of vitamin E, antioxidants, melatonin, folate, and thiamine, which help protect the brain and nervous system. Seeds work the same way, just in case you’re allergic to nuts.
  5. Salmon: Salmon sushi rolls can help you have a sharper mind and improve your concentration. Add some salmon to your meals and boost your mental skills.
  6. Berries: Berries are the perfect snack, and they’re packed full of antioxidants and flavonoids, which help improve your memory, learning, and thinking skills.
